What we will be learning the week of November 15th - 19th......

Math: This week we will continue adding two digit numbers, but we'll learn to regroup! We will continue adding the ones first, then add the tens. This will help us with regrouping. Remember you can only have 9 or less in the ones place!

Science: This week in science we will begin exploring sound. We will identify the characteristics of sound by discussing these vocabulary words: loudness, pitch, vibrations, and sonar. We will also perform a few experiments over the next two weeks in our sound unit to see how sound travels through different types of matter.

Social Studies: This week we will continue our study of Thanksgiving. We will learn about the First Thanksgiving, and discuss what we are "thankful for." We invite you to you class feast this Friday at 11:00 in the classroom.

Language Arts: We will be reading and learning about colonial days and pilgrim life this week. Two books we will focus on will be Sarah Morton's Day: A day in the life of a Pilgrim girl and Samuel Eaton's Day: A day in the life of a Pilgrim boy. We will also take a look at pronouns this week and focus on them in our daily writing. The students will be expected to know what a pronoun is and be able to identify them in writing.
