In science this week we will explore and learn about magnets. Have your student look around your house this week for different types of magnets.
This week in social studies we will begin to learn about wants, needs, earning, spending and saving money. This will begin our economic unit!
In Reading we will be reading different versions of The Gingerbread Man. The students will work on vocabulary development, sequencing, story mapping, and comparing/contrasting story elements.
In Writing we are learning how writers revise and improve stories. We will focus on improving the beginnings and endings of our stories. We will learn how authors use good leads and conclusions in their writing. We will also work on how to "show, not tell" when we're writing. We are going to write our own version of The Gingerbread Man.
In Word Study/Spelling we will be working with words that have the ee pattern.
