What we will be learning during the week of February 7th - 11th

Math: This week we will finish up our work for now with two digit subtraction with and without regrouping. This is a concept that we will come back and revisit many times, because we need to keep sharp on our skills! You many also want to practice these types of problems from time to time at home. Our major focus this week will be telling time! The students are very excited about this unit, and know how important learning to tell time is. We will learn time to the hour, half hour, quarter hour and 5 minutes over the next two weeks. Please practice at home with your student. Remember not all clocks are digital!!!

Science: This week in science we will learn about weather and weather tools. We are keeping a weather log of how our weather here in Spring, Texas is going to change once again this week!

Social Studies: Our "Power to the Flower" Factory was a huge success! I am very pleased to report that our class sold 860 flower pens! This week we will vote as to where we want to donate our money (which charity)--next week I will give you a update on this. This week in social studies, we will be learning about the Chinese New Year. This is the year of the Rabbit!
