Math: This week we work with coins. We will introduce the quarter and count coins! We will be working with the quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. It would be great practice to ask your child to count the change in your pocket a few times this week!
Science: This week in science we will continue to learn about space! We will focus on the moon this week. Try to see if your child can tell you what phase our moon is at one night this week.
Social Studies: This week in social studies we will learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

What we will be learning for the week of February 14th - 18th
Math: This week we will continue to practice telling time. Our major focus this week will be with telling time to the quarter hour and five minute! Please practice at home time to the hour, half hour, quarter hour and 5 minutes. There are many fun games on the internet that your child may enjoy playing to help with this concept.
Science: This week in science we will continue to learn about weather by looking at the seasons.
Social Studies: This week in social studies we will continue to work in our economics unit discussing budgets and saving money.
Language Arts: We are learning what biographies are and each student is researching facts about a famous American of their choice.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
The teachers tried to jump rope and the kiddos LOVED that! We don't have any where near the energy they have to jump for a whole hour!!!
